Christmas Tree Recycling
A message from SDC:
During this festive season we will be supporting our local hospice, Longfield, to recycle Christmas trees. For a donation, however big or small, the trees will be collected from residents doors saving the inconvenience of transporting them to the skips normally located throughout the district. For this reason, SDC will not be providing Christmas tree skips this year.
The organisation, ‘Just Helping’, working on behalf of Longfield, will be collecting trees in the Stroud District on 5th, 6th and 7th January 2018. All retailers in Stroud selling trees have been provided with literature from Longfield advising residents on how to recycle their tree. The information can also be found on our website (click here)<https://www.stroud.gov.uk/environment/bins-rubbish-and-recycling/christmas-tree-recycling> and will be included in our Christmas advertising campaign.
Once the trees are collected they will be shredded at the hospice and used on their gardens.
To arrange a collection, residents can visit www.charityxmastreecollection.com<http://www.charityxmastreecollection.com> or call 01453 886868 where a number of Longfields advisors will be happy to assist.

Damage to wall at Kingscourt Play area
The parish council has been notified of damage to the wall at our Kingscourt play area. Thank you to parishioners who have phoned or emailed us.
The council is arranging repairs as a matter of urgency although this is a very busy time for wall repairers and the area will be cordoned off. Please take great care when passing the damage and keep children away from the wall.
We apologies for any inconvenience to those using the play area.
Survey on Rodborough Community Hall
Rodborough Community Hall was originally built as a football pavilion in 1990/91 and it could be said that parts of the hall are cramped and dowdy, little used, poorly-equipped and in need of refurbishment. Your Parish Council is considering options for development or even replacement, in order to better serve Rodborough residents as a vibrant and more active community centre.
The current consultation with parishioners on how they currently use the building, what sorts of activities they would like to see there in the future and how they would like to see these aims achieved is now closed. Thank you to everyone one who took time to respond to the questionnaire. The results are being collated and will inform the next stages of this project
Further updates will follow.
Outdoor Adult Gym Equipment.
Rodborough Parish Council is currently investigating getting some outdoor gym equipment for adults and older children installed on the Butterrow West site. This equipment would consist of stations such as exercise bikes, steppers and upper and lower body strengtheners. We have had an excellent response to the survey and thank you to everyone who took part. The playground working group are continuing to progress this project.
Now that the stretch of road between the Fort and Bowl Hill has been resurfaced, we would like to thank most sincerely the Parish Council members who supported our petition to the County Council for this work to be done. Your support was much appreciated and certainly added weight to the petition.”
